Alice and GeorginaWe're delighted that Alice Chitty and Georgia Stevenson recently ran a half marathon to raise funds for Mvumi School! Alice (pictured right) and Georgia (left) completed the New Forest half marathon and are donating their sponsorship money to Mvumi, ahead of their visit to the school as gap year students next year.

Alice explains that their decision to go to the school came when she visited this website and realised how much the school depends on financial support to provide students with its high standards of education. She writes:

It’s very easy in England to take a good education for granted. Reflecting on the eduction oportunities in Tanzania made us realise that we wanted to give something back in gratitude for the schooling we have been given. We have heard stories from other ‘gappies’ about what amazing work Mvumi does and we feel enormously privileged to be able to come out and help in any way we can. We were so encouraged by the generosity of all our sponsors who clearly caught the vision of Mvumi.

So far they have raised nearly £1,370 and are expecting more. If you would like to donate to Mvumi by sponsoring Alice and Georgia, go to their Just Giving page here:
